Historical Socialization Research
Another focus of my research is the development of a methodological proposal for historical socialization research and its application through historical socialization case studies.
Historical socialization research – a guide for research practice:
Together with the team of the Chair of Historical Educational Research (Prof. Carola Groppe), we are developing a book project that aims to provide a practical proposal for theoretically, methodologically, and practically grounding historical socialization research, updating it, and thus making it accessible to a broad research audience. The study of socialization processes has been marginal in the field of historical research, even though examining individuals, collectives, or institutions offers valuable insights. Our findings were brought together in the book Historical Socialization Research: Theory, Analysis, Presentation, which was published in 2026 by UTB-Böhlau.

Collective biographical analyses of the Prussian reforms:
With regard to the Prussian reforms, I am examining the reformer collective in more detail through several socialization-historical case studies. Of particular interest are smaller groups that have so far received little attention in research. The methodological toolkit of historical socialization research has already been applied to analyze the Combined Immediate Commission in Memel and Königsberg. Further studies on different aspects are still forthcoming.
